Pushcart Prize Nominee: Donald Quist

It seems most appropriate to share Donald Quist's essay, "Junior", on Thanksgiving Day. This time of the year—especially with a contentious election so close in the rearview mirror—can be filled with fraught interactions with family. Pieces like these remind us of the importance of family...even the imperfect ones.

I finally grasped the depths of your kindness and generosity, and acknowledged that although you may not have been a great father or husband, you try to be a good man.
— Donald Quist from "Junior"

We've had much positive feedback on Harbors over the last couple of months. We are especially thankful that Donald allowed us to publish this collection because we've been regularly reminded of late why words like his are important to share.
